Eddie Gilbert crossed lines personally as his feud with Jerry Lawler intensified.
Eddie decided to do a mock “This Is Your Life” segment, nearly fifteen years before The Rock and Mick Foley set ratings records with theirs, but here took a much darker tone. Eddie aimed to use names and events from the past to defame and humiliate Lawler including making the allegation live on television that Jerry is responsible for the death of his former manager Sam Bass. It was a heavy and uncomfortable moment that added fuel to the fire of their feud.
